The Revolutionary Convention, also known as the Convention of Aguascalientes, was the most representative assembly of the revolution. People from the "constitucionalismo" and "villismo" gathered for this convention on the 10th of October 1914, to discuss several issues of the country. In the meeting sovereignty was declared, three of the most representative characters of the revolution (Carranza, Villa, and Zapata) were dismissed. In this convention, Eulalio Gutierrez was elected as president of the republic and the social reforms were discussed. However, the convention failed and was later disarmed.
