Description:

The Committee of Public Safety was originally created to protect France from both foreign and domestic threats, and in July of 1793, Maximilien Robespierre was elected to it. That's when everything started to go wrong. The Committee, under Robespierre's lead, starting turning against the French citizens and virtually anyone who spoke out against it. This led to the Reign of Terror, and no one was safe.
