may 11, 1887 - Dawes Act passed

Description:

The Dawes Act was passed to give the Native Americans to use their land in farming. Very few of these Indians were able to become competent and raise their own farm. Many failed at this and decided to sell their land to white settlers where the Native Americans lost their land completely.
