Following former leader Vladimir Lenin's death, Joseph Stalin rises to power. Stalin was born to a shoemaker in Georgia and was a Marxist through and through, and also was Lenin's right-hand man. He was a man who believed that he could take anything by force, and that showed in the way he came to office. He made sure he had powerful alliies so that Leon Trotsky couldn't take his power away from him. Trotsky lived the rest of his life in exile.
