may 10, 1775 - Second Continental Congress
Description:
The Battle of Concord marked one of the biggest signs that war was coming, this resulted in the need for the second continental congress. They created a continental army and appointed George Washington to lead the army, as he was well-liked and from the south, (the south was where many loyalists lived). It's also good to note that not everyone thought the war was inevitable, obviously loyalists didn't want war, but several high powered people still attempted to reconcile with Britain.
