Born in Stagira (Northern Greece), his father died when he was a child and at the age of seventeen he joined Plato's Academy and stayed there until he was thirty-seven. Aristotle greatly influenced medieval scholarship and his influence has remained to today. His work influenced the Renaissance and even extended into the Enlightenment. He had major affect on religion and specifficaly Christianity. His contributions to science and philosophy have changed a significant portion of the world.
