jan 1, 1280 BC - Jason
Born
Description:
the son of Aeson, King of Iolcos, and Alcimede. In a bitter feud, Pelias, the King's brother overthrew Aeson and killing all the descendants of Aeson that he could. Alcimede saved the newborn Jason by having the maids cry as if he were still-born. Alcimede sent Jason away to be reared by the centaur Chiron. Pelias, fearing that his ill-gotten kingship might be challenged, consulted an oracle, who warned him to beware of a man wearing only one sandal.
