Description:

The bomb was nicknamed "Little Boy," and was released from the plane Enola Gray at approximately 8:15 am. The bomb killed 80,000 people instantly and the radiation poisoning killed many more in the long run. Some were upset by using such a powerful bomb, but one of the main arguments by U.S. officials was that it would force Japan to surrender unconditionally.
