mar 5, 1953 - Stalin's Death

Description:

Since 1951 Stalin was ignoring his health, when doctors told him his paranoia about his work was causing his health to decline he declared them traitors and sent them to gulags declaring a doctor's plot (British spies). During his final months in 1953, Stalin would call his inner circle to his house the Kuntesvo dacha (Kruschev, Baria, Bulganin, and Malenkov) to watch movies and eat while discussing. On the night of March 5th, 1954, Stalin was found in his room by an estate employee after having a stroke. Stalin’s inner circle was hesitant to call a doctor due to Stalin’s paranoia of the and the upcoming doctor’s trial, by the time doctors arrived it was too late because Stalin developed internal hemorrhaging. It was never determined whether Stalin's stroke was due to poison or health reasons. Stalin's death created a huge power vacuum filled by Kruschev. The new Soviet Leadership was never as effective as Stalin.

How did Stalin’s paranoia lead to his demise and the power vacuum it caused?
