Description:
On April 14th, Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Booth was an actor and sympathized with the Confederates. He was assassinated at Ford's Theatre, located in Washington, D.C. Lincoln was in a private box located above the stage when he was shot, with an army officer and his wife. At around 10:15, Booth came into the box and shot the President in the back of the head with a .44-caliber pistol. After stabbing the army officer, Booth jumped on the stage and ran away. Lincoln died the next day at 7:22 a.m, he was 56.
