At about nine o’clock in the morning, “a noise from heaven, just like that of a rushing, stiff breeze,” fills the house where about 120 disciples of Jesus are gathered. Next, tongues as if of fire become visible, and one rests on each of the disciples. Then, the disciples become “filled with holy spirit” and begin speaking in foreign languages! When the disciples leave the house, those visitors they encounter on the streets of Jerusalem are astonished, for the disciples are able to speak to them!
