jul 10, 1754 - The Albany Plan of Union
Description:
The Albany Plan Union allowed troops to be recruited and tax to be collected with in the colonies as a way to help their defense. Yet, the colonist wasn’t too fond of the plan, so it never took effect. The British ended up winning the war, creating the treaty of Paris, ultimately expanding their control on North America. The British looked at the war as them needing to come in and save the colonist. It them looked down upon the colonies and they viewed them as people who couldn’t defend themselves. Meanwhile, in the eyes of the colonies this sparked a nationalism within them. It gave them a boost in confidence, and they felt as if they could defend for themselves.
