nov 5, 1912 - The Election of 1912; New Nationalism, New Freedom
Description:
The Republicans nominated Taft, the progressive Republicans nominated Theodore Roosevelt, Democrats nominated Woodrow Wilson, and the Socialists nominated Eugene V Debs. Since the Republicans were split, Wilson was able to win a landslide in the Electoral College and win the election even though he did not win the majority of the popular vote. Despite this election, Roosevelt’s government acts to help society, also known as new nationalism, had a lasting effect for a long time.
