Description:
In September 1620, around 100 Europeans set sail from England on the Mayflower seeking religious freedom in the New World. The ship landed on the shores of Cape Cod in Massachusetts. Later, a scouting party was sent out and in late December 1620, the party landed in Plymouth Harbor where the first permanent settlement of Europeans in New England. The pilgrims lived in harmony with the Native Americans where they taught the pilgrims how to plant corn, as well as fish and hunt.
