Description:

Federalist took advantage of the fact that they were in charge of congress to weaken the democratic-republican party. They set the alien and sedition acts that made it much longer and harder to become a citizen as new citizens tended to vote the democratic-republican party and they gave the president the power to deport immigrants he deemed should not be in America. This also made it illegal to talk ill of the president or congress in Newspapers. This violated the second amendment.
