Description:
In South Carolina a group of slaves stole weapons from a country store and killed the owners and marched sough on Stone River gathering recruits, burning plantations and killing whites. Eventually the militia killed 24 African Americans and the remaining 40 were executed without a trial. This rebellion increased white fear of revolts and made punishment of slaves even more severe.Added to timeline:
