jan 1, 1919 - The Battle of Ratification: Reservationists, Irreconcilables

Description:

According to the US government president Wilson how to gain the word of the Senate in order to sign the Treaty of Versailles’s. The battle of ratification began for where 2/3 of the Senate needed to approve entry into the League and the treaty. Being patriotic meant supporting the treaty and Wilson attempted to appeal to both the Republicans and Democrats. These senators in their decision split into two groups the reservationist's and the irreconcilables. The reservationist was more popular and accepted the League. And the irreconcilables did not. The treaty was not ratified by the Senate and therefore Wilson did not join the League of Nations.
