jan 1, 1646 - Plymouth and Massachusetts (CUL, MIG, WXT)

Description:

These two colonies were founded with the purpose of them being religion rather than wealth. They were founded by the Church of England which did not have any affiliation with the Pope or the Roman Catholic Church. Due to this fact they chose to distinguish themselves from the Pope by following Calvin’s teachings, these people were later prosecuted by England’s King James I who thought it was a threat to his authority and had them jailed. The Plymouth colony was established by Separatists and other people in search of an opportunity for wealth who set sail on a boat called the Mayflower. At first their colony began to fail, with a large population decrease but with the help of friendly natives and great leaders they began to see their numbers go up exponentially. Massachusetts Bay was created due to a thousand Puritans infiltrating colonists in Massachusetts for the purpose of religious reform and in their eyes they wanted to “purify” the church.
