jan 1, 1770 - Boston Massacre
Description:
Because Colonists were bitter towards British soldiers in Boston who were deployed to protect officials from the violent Sons and Daughters of Liberty, one day they began to annoy and harass a group of soldiers. Soon enough, the annoyance turned into what the soldiers saw as a threat; consequentially, they fired into the “rioting” crown, killing 5 people. When the soldiers were tried for murder, they were defended by John Adams whose more radical cousin, Samuel Adams, pasted the word “massacre” over the event in attempts to enrage the Colonists and fuel the burning flame. Some see this as the official turning point of the sequence of Acts and Events that led to the American Revolution. This is become it was finally becoming full on violent: they were now killing each other based off the sole feeling of resentment.
