Description:

The First Triumvirate is formed. It is an informal alliance among Julius Caesar, Pompeius Magnus, and Licinius Crassus. These three prominent politicians worked to consolidate power in Rome. Crassus and Pompey could not stand working with each other but did so because it was the only way they could ultimately get what they wanted. These men succeeded in getting Caesar elected to the consul.
