jan 2, 1778 - The 3/5 Compromise

Description:

The US established a electoral college and needed to know how to count the votes of slaves for southern states. Southern states wanted this because slaves were a major part in their population, but Northern said they shouldn't. The compromise would make slaves count as 3/5 of a person when counting state population.
