Description:

To free all the slaves in the border states, the USA needed to ratify an amendment and abolitionists gave Lincoln credit for making an impact to secure enough votes in congress to pass the amendment. The 13th amendment abolished slavery and was ratified by the states. slavery was not allowed unless it was a punishment for a crime someone has comitted.
