oct 16, 1859 - John Brown's Raid at Haper’s Ferry

Description:

A slave uprising was attempted in Virginia by John Brown. He led some followers to attack the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry. The federal troops that were under command of Robert Lee then captured Brown two days later. Brown and 6 other men were hung by the State of Virginia and Southerners saw this as the North's intentions to use slaves to destroy the South.
