jul 14, 2015 - New Horizons & NASA
Description:
On the 14th, Pluto successfully flew by and analyzed Pluto's surface via it's first direct flyby. It gave us high-quality images and atmospheric conditions of Pluto, and more accurate information about Kerberos.
Not only was it the first dwarf planet explored by a spacecraft, but it also means that the US is the first nation to explore all of the nine major planets recognized in 1981. It also means that now we no longer need to look in our solar system as much, we can now focus solely on the stars away from us.
