First Secretary of the Soviet Communist Party Nikita Khrushchev bashed on Stalin's image, that of revealing his crimes. Khrushchev aimed to return to socialist legality and Leninist principles of party rule.
De-Stalinzation would be an important event in the war because it would damage the reputation of the Soviets by many communists around the world as well as lead up to the uprising of the states of Poland and Hungary from the Soviets.
