dec 8, 1987 - 1987 INF Treaty
Description:
The 1987 INF Treaty, unabbreviated as Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, was the agreement between the superpowers to dispose of their stock of intermediate-range and shorter-range missiles. To ensure of total destruction of the missiles, the superpowers would be able to verify the other power's disposal and total discard of the nuclear weapons.
The Treaty is significant to the war because it relieved tensions between the two superpowers in terms of the use of their nuclear missiles. The disposals of each other's missiles would see potential nuclear warfare erased from common thought and it was as if they were getting near the end of all tensions.
