0h 45min, apr 3, 1948 y - Marshall Plan
Description:
The US offered $12 billion USD in aid to all nations in Europe (including Germany)-- intentions to modernize industry, reduce trade barriers, and rebuild Europe’s infrastructure.
The plan was as a result from the US wanting to aid European allies economically and to prevent communist takeover in economically unstable regions.
The plan was significant to the war as it brought pressure upon the Soviets to come up with an economic plan of their own, which would be the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (COMECON; rebuild Eastern Europe).
