The Literature of Alienation: Lost Generation (CUL) – Because the time period was so confusing between juggling a war, new ideas in the air, all strong sentiment by the older generation too keep the same ideas and values, it reflected in the literature of the time. Authors were usually disillusioned and wrote in a way that express that. Authors like Hemingway and Eliot left the United States due to their unhappiness whereas other authors such as Fitzgerald and O'Neill became infatuated with alcohol. Money and fraud and sacrificed and war as well as religion and hypocrisy were themes in their books and works. This period of literature became known as The Literature of Alienation written by the authors known as the Lost Generation
