jan 1, 202 BC - Battle of Zama
Description:
This battle effectively ended both Hannibal's command of Carthaginian forces and also Carthage's chances to significantly oppose Rome. It took place at a site identified by the Roman historian Livy as Naraggara (now Sāqiyat Sīdī Yūsuf, Tunisia). Due to the lack of resources provided by Carthage, Hannibal's forces lost the battle against the Roman Republic.
