During these times a change was happening and Abigail Adams (wife of John Adams) saw this change too. More specifically change for women and the role that they play. During battles and war, it was left for the women to pick up the work of their husbands and men as they went off to fight. Abgail seeing this and how the women were able to hold their own (some even taking the place of their husband on battle) gave her the perspective that they too should not be counted out and she wrote to her husband expressing those concerns and thoughts with him. As a way to let him see things differently.
