Description:

As Japan began to modernize to keep up with Western Powers, they realized that they couldn’t industrialize like the U.S. or Great Britain, as they didn’t have the resources themselves. To obtain these resources, Japan begins it invasion of southeast Asia. On September 18th, 1931, Japan invade Manchuria and collect resources like lumber, oil, and rubber. In February of the following year, Japan sets up a puppet state and the League of Nation did little to stop them.
