Description:
Since 1975, the country has been united as one under communist rule. The south was unable to defeat and stand against northern forces. When first unified, thousands were sent by communists to reeducation camps, and industries were strictly controlled. Over the years millions have fled to the U.S. and Canada to leave life with oppression. Today, however, the U.S. has normalized relations with the country. In recent years, the nation has become less restrictive and is open to foreign investments.
