16h 42min, apr 12, 1861 y - Fort Sumter
Description:
Fort Sumter was an important fort in the South that remained loyal to the Union. The Confederacy had it sieged, so Lincoln was forced to decide if he would let them starve or send reinforcement and start the war. Instead, he sent a letter to Jefferson Davis saying that he was going to send provisions, but not backups. This made Davis decide if he would start the war or look weak. The Union lost the fort but gained patriotism. These were the first shots of the Civil War.
