jan 1, 200000000 BC - 200 - 175 mya Pangea split into Gondwana and Laurasia
Description:
During the Mesozoic era, the supercontinent of Pangea split into Gondwana and Laurasia to which this one change led to many changes in the Australian continent. Pangea was spread from pole to pole and Australia's location was south and joined to Antarctica, India, and New Zealand. During Pangea, Australia was cold and dry due to its location in relation to the sun and the wind it received as being situated on the coast of Pangea. The sea levels were also described as low. Australia was cold and dry so it was difficult to have vegetation that was in high quantity and quality as they were not receiving enough water. So vegetation levels were low.
