The melody has a wide range with large leaps and florid embellishments. It is inspired by vocal coloratura but is beyond the capacity of most voices.
The accompanimental figuration capitalizes on the piano’s natural resonance by using wide spacing in the bass and closer spacing in the middle range.

Brings elements of the virtuoso piano tradition into a genre more closely associated with the salon and the parlor than the concert stage.
