jan 1, 1774 - Intolerable Acts

Description:

The Intolerable Act was put in place to punish the American colonists because of the Boston Tea Party. The act was a group of smaller, more specific acts that would restrict; trade, town meetings, and would close down the Boston Harbor. The authority of the royal governor was also increased and General Gage was appointed governor of Massachusetts. It was this act that outraged all 13 colonies.
