The Battle of Bunker Hill ended in an American loss but it showed the British how much fight the Americans Miltamen had. The British plan was to capture two hills that surrounded Boston and have advantage over the Colonists. The Miltamen intercepted this first and tried to defend their hills. In this fight Major General William Howe told his men not to fire until they saw the “Whites of their eyes”. The British had to retreat two different times and on the third time they finally defeated the American Miltamen.Added to timeline:
