The Treaty of Paris of 1783 formally ended the American Revolution. American statesmen Benjamin Franklin, John Adams and John Jay negotiated the peace treaty with representatives of King George III of Great Britain. In the Treaty, the British Parliament formally recongized America's Independence and ceded most of its land. The treaty was ratified by the Contanial Congress on January 14, 1784.Added to timeline:
