sep 30, 1938 - The Munich Conference

Description:

Held to discuss the future of Czechoslovakia after the invasion of Austria. Hitler wanted to annex the Sudetenland region. Britain and France followed a policy of appeasement and caved to Hitler's demands in order to avoid war. The agreement turned over the Sudetenland to Germany in exchange for Germany's promise to make no additional territorial demands.
