Organized by the Federation of South African Women (FSAW)
Including the leaders of the march there was Lilian Ngoyi, president of ANC Women’s League
Non- violent march organized in Pretoria, where women marched to the Union building
Over twenty thousand women participated
Protests continued in Lichtenburg, where 2 women were killed by the police - police was brutal
By march 1960 75% of African women were issued with passes, however their protests continued
Put in place to protest against the pass law
