jan 1, 1948 - Creation of the OEEC

Description:

The Office of European Economic Cooperative, which was directly responsible for the Marshall Plan, allowed the US to become more involved in West European politics by giving them financial aid and supporting them through their economic recovery following the war. The US's relatively strong stability after the war allowed to divert more resources towards the reconstruction and reunification of Western Europe. Though it began as a US initiative, it quickly spread to include many European nations, allowed them to support one another.
