jan 20, 1947 - In January of 1947, Harry S. Truman appointed George Marshall to scout Europe to find out how people were living. He came back and announced it was terrible which led to the creation of the Marshall Plan. This was a document the leaders signed to offer economical aid to the few non-communist countries in Europe.
