jul 20, 1969 - Moon Landing
Description:
The moon landing was the fulfillment of JFK's call to action at the beginning of the 1960s. It brought hope and joy to Americans, and gave them a victory in the Space Race. The effect on American culture was that Americans regained some of their pride and optimism, and were united by that event. The moon landing was similar to the bombing of Japan in WW2, as both established the US as a world power, and were feats of science that no one had thought were possible to achieve.
