(Exact date unknown) When Snow Flower and Lily met again in Puwei, they both had given birth to daughters, something they had wished for since Snow Flower's visit to Lily's house a few months earlier. They had wanted their daughters to become laotongs like they were even though none of the girls' eight characters matched, it didn't matter because they knew it felt right. To commemorate the joining, Snow Flower embroidered a pair of small birds flying towards the moon while two other birds sat on a branch looked up at them on their secret fan.
