The War Production Board (WPB) was created with the goal of regulating the military economy during the war. However, this board didn't gain much power or control over the military, and ultimately, much of the economic activities made by the American military was controlled by the military itself. Despite these difficulties for the board, the American economy was still able to meet the needs that the war called for.
