Description:

General Gage ordered troops to go from Boston to Concord, they were to take illegal weapons. On April 18th, Colonist spread the word that 700 British troops were on their way. As the Redcoats came to Lexington they saw 70 men in lines. The British ordered them to lay their arms and leave, the colonists did not listen. Soon, someone fired and then the British fired. 8 men were killed and 10 were injured, but only 1 British man. This was the first battle of the Revolutionary war. The British marched on to Concord they were about to turn around when they saw 3,000-4,000 men lined up. The men shot at the British from behind trees and stone walls. Many British soldiers had died.
