16h 21min, nov 17, 1800 y - Revolution of 1800
Description:
The election of 1800 was referred to as “revolutionary” because it was the first peaceful transfer of political power between the two parties in America and eventually led to the federalist party being dissolved. This election increased tensions between the North and the South, for the reason that the three-fifths clause of the Constitution brought Thomas Jefferson his victory against John Adams. The Northerners believed that these slave votes were an advantage for the South and unfair. The Northerners were displeased because they considered Jefferson to have been elected by slaves which increased national tension.
