jul 4, 1776 - Declaration of Independence
Description:
Was written by Virginia lawyer, Thomas Jefferson, and was an official declaration that declared The Unites States separate from Great Britain. The document included, “Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness” to be “unalienable” rights, and that when a government denies their unalienable rights, the people have the right to “alter or abolish” that government. Jefferson provided a long list of violations committed by the king and Parliament against the colonists’ unalienable rights.
