With the recent use of atomic bombs (in World War II and the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki), the current President D. Eisenhower speaks to the American people and the wider global audience about the dangers of a weapon that has become globalized and has fallen into the hands of rogue nations, such as the Soviet Union. To combat the dangers of the atomic bomb, he promoted peaceful atomic programs (for agriculture, medicine, and electricity) and the spread of knowledge and awareness.

Continuity/Change → President Eisenhower is changing the motives of atomic weapons and energy and encouraging healthy and peaceful/nonviolent uses versus Truman who directed the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki to increase standings and power in the global world. Eisenhower used the nuclear powers to propel economic and technological growth.
