Description:

After dropping the first bomb on Hiroshima on August 6, another bomb was dropped on the city of Nagasaki, which killed nearly 40,000 people. With the dropping of both of these bombs, Japan announced their surrender to the Allies on August 14. After marking the end of the war, most of the world is in ruins and needs to be rebuilt under a major power. The end of the war left two major powers unaffected, which were the Soviet Union and the United States. I believe that this is a change from the US' WW1 isolationist ideas to rejecting those ideas entirely to become a leading world power.
